Le Chêne des Suédois
The Swedes' Oak stands at Reyersviller, a small village in the Bitche area of the Moselle, in the Northern Vosges Regional Nature Park. It is signposted on the road to Siersthal, in an area where the forest is a strong feature of the landscape.
According to the local description, it is a very old oak of around 500 years, about two metres in diameter and some twenty metres high, regarded as the elder of the forest; these figures could not be checked against a recent source. The tree is linked to local memory, hence its name. A visit combines well with a forest walk around Reyersviller.
