Four kilometres north of Montcuq, in the Lot, the Grotte de Roland is the only cave open to visitors in the Quercy Blanc. A 410-metre gallery leads to an underground lake surrounded by original and varied formations, in which visitors like to imagine fortresses or strange animals.
The visit, lasting about an hour, ends with a small prehistory museum.
Known to prehistoric man, who performed the rites of his religion there, this cave was rediscovered 200 centuries later, in 1922.
