Grotte de Fontirou
The formation of the Fontirou cave, in the Lot-et-Garonne, began some 30 million years ago. The cave shows an unbroken series of formations of all shapes and many colours.
The route, suitable for families whatever the weather, takes about 40 minutes and is led by a guide, with no difficulty. The temperature is 14 °C, which makes it pleasant in hot weather. A scene of cave painting has been reconstructed in the caves.
