FRAC Poitou-Charentes - Site d'Angoulême
The FRAC Poitou-Charentes, a regional contemporary art fund, is a public collection of contemporary art. Its Angoulême site, in the Charente, is on the Boulevard Besson Bey, at Les Alleux, and hosts two or three temporary exhibitions a year.
It is open only during exhibition periods, so dates should be checked before visiting. In 2026 it is showing, until 1 November, 'Croissant indigérible', the first solo exhibition in Europe by the Casablanca-based collective Tizintizwa, whose work draws on oral histories and situated memories; it stems from research carried out in 2025 in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. From 18 November to 17 December 2026 a selection of works is also shown at the Théâtre d'Angoulême, in tune with its season.
The FRAC offers accompanied visits, art workshops for children and families, meetings with artists, concerts, talks and performances, for contemporary art lovers, school groups and families alike.
