Forêt d'Orient
The Espace faune of the Forêt d'Orient, in the Aube, presents grazing animals of the past and present in semi-freedom, in the heart of the regional nature park.
In redesigned enclosures, three species live alongside red deer, roe deer and wild boar: the aurochs, recreated by crossing cattle breeds that kept its features; the tarpan, a horse close to the Konik Polski that once roamed the European steppes; and the European elk, still found in northern Europe and America.
The area also introduces local wildlife and plants: pond life, the many birds of the nature reserve and the trees of the surrounding forests.
