Château de Chacenay
The Château de Chacenay is a former 13th-century fortified castle, remodelled several times, notably in the 15th and 19th centuries. It stands in the commune of Chacenay, in the Aube, and is protected as a historic monument in several respects. It houses a collection of original manuscripts and autographs.
A historic jewel of the Aube, it is an impressive witness to medieval life. It holds many treasures, including a magnificent staircase, a 16th-century fireplace and fine wall paintings, and owes its restoration to illustrious 19th-century architects. The visit takes in a fortified castle, its rooms and its park, near Bar-sur-Seine.
