Croisières du Lac d'Orient

Aube, Grand Est

The Lac d'Orient is the largest of the Seine reservoir lakes, in the Forêt d'Orient Regional Nature Park, east of Troyes, in the Aube. Filled in 1965, it was created to reduce flooding and support the river's level in periods of low water.

Passenger boat trips leave from the port of Mesnil-Saint-Père. The commentary is live, and the trip lasts about an hour aboard a 120-seat electric boat. It presents the lake, the history of the area, how the reservoirs work and their effects on wildlife and plants.

Lunch cruises are also available, such as the commented two-hour cruise scheduled in August 2026. Departures depend on the weather. The shores of the lake are also popular for sailing, swimming and cycling.
