Elevage La Doudou
The Élevage de la Doudou is an educational farm at Cheptainville, in the Essonne, on the edge of the forest. This family farm raises goats, dairy cows, poultry, rabbits, donkeys and horses, and lets visitors, especially children, discover life on a traditional farm.
Visitors can watch the goats and cows being milked and, in spring, the birth of kids. A shop sells goat's cheeses, dairy products and other farm produce.
The visit also includes the Musée du Bois Blanc, which displays old objects and tools and recalls the life of peasants and craftsmen of the past. Hedge mazes complete the site in the warmer months, depending on the weather. A simple, instructive outing for families in Île-de-France.
