Château des Roches (Bièvres)
The Château des Roches at Bièvres, in the Essonne, now the Maison Littéraire de Victor Hugo, is where the French writer stayed. At the heart of a 10-hectare estate whose park is laid out with a lake and walks, the château has four exhibition rooms offering a themed route through the work of Victor Hugo (1802-1885).
Visitors find hundreds of original works, manuscripts, period photographs and documents on Victor Hugo's loves, exile and political commitments.
