Château de Sédières

Corrèze, Nouvelle-Aquitaine

The Château de Sédières is in the commune of Clergoux, in the Corrèze, within a 130-hectare estate of forests, lakes and streams. It very probably dates from the early 15th century and is said to have been built by Jean Boutier. Listed as a historic monument since 1958, it was bought in 1965 by the Corrèze département.

Of the four wings built around an inner courtyard, a drawbridge over the ditches remains, leading to a gate flanked by two turrets. The Sédières festival has been held here from June to September since 1974, and the natural setting invites walks.
