Château de Plaisir
The Château de Plaisir, in the Yvelines, grew from a house owned by the lady of Neauphle in the 15th century, transformed in the 16th and 17th centuries into a château. After the Duke of Brittany, the Le Tellier family held it for a century. In 1939 the last private owner renovated the park and the buildings. The oak-panelled shutters and the fireplaces are in Louis XIII style, while the low wings date from the 18th century.
Today the château is a cultural venue for concerts and exhibitions, and it also houses the music school and the library.
