Château de Launac
The castle of Launac, in the Haute-Garonne, was built of brick on a rectangular plan with four corner towers. It was surrounded by ditches, and a drawbridge led to the village, which was also ringed by ditches.
Today only one tower (the oldest part, from the 12th or 13th century) and two wings of the original building remain. The wing on the lake side has a row of machicolations and a wall walk. The castle is not open to visitors, but this fine building can be admired on a walk through the village.
