Château de Courances

Essonne, Île-de-France

A garden of mirrors, springs and endless reflections: barely 50 km from Paris, the Château de Courances, in the Essonne, has one of the finest gardens in France and a Louis XIII château listed as a historic monument.

Little known, this park of surprising beauty, both classical and romantic, historic and contemporary, has an atmosphere at once intimate and grand. The constant presence of running water, plants and stone in this landscape created in the 16th century is a unique sight: plays of nature and water, perspectives and scale, hidden springs and spectacular reflections, shades of green and colour.
