Château de Chambert
The Château de Chambert is at Floressas, in the Lot, on the high limestone slopes of the south Quercy causse, between Puy-l'Évêque and Prayssac, west of Cahors. The estate covers about 110 hectares of vines and woods, farmed biodynamically. The Cahors appellation is led by Malbec, with Merlot and a little Chardonnay.
The guided tour starts at the château's façade, crosses the vineyard and the cellars and ends with a tasting. Groups must book. In season the estate also offers food.
A project to turn the château into a mansion hotel of about ten rooms has been announced, with support from the Tourisme Occitanie fund. The estate remains above all a place to discover Cahors wine in a causse landscape.
