Château de Blandy-les-Tours
Originally the fief of Aurelian, a companion of Clovis, the château of Blandy-les-Tours was rebuilt in the sixteenth century by François II d'Orléans, who made it a pleasure residence. The Princess of Clèves was married there in 1572 in the presence of the future Henry IV. After seventeenth-century restorations, the castle was dismantled and turned into a farm. Its mighty 35-metre keep rises inside a polygonal enclosure of fourteenth-century round towers. The Merovingian crypt survives in the courtyard. The castle has been restored since 1992.
