Château de Bargème

An architectural marvel, it is distinguished as one of the "Most Beautiful Villages of France". Lovers of the Middle Ages will be truly enchanted. They enter through a fortified gate (the village has three, all from the fourteenth century), then cross the perfectly restored village to the ruins of its splendid castle. The architecture is refined: the remains of its walls of pale golden stone follow a square plan, flanked by four round towers reaching high into the sky, giving it presence and majesty.
