Cascade du Creux Saillant
The Creux Saillant waterfall is in the Credogne valley, north-east of the Chaîne des Puys, in the Puy-de-Dôme, near the village of Saillant. The valley is wild and enclosed, with ravine forests, oak coppices on the slopes and beeches on the valley floor.
The waterfall is discovered from the D114 road, which runs along the river. Other small falls are strung out upstream and downstream. The little road through the Credogne gorges, little used, offers many picnic spots by the water and also appeals to cyclists.
Not to be confused with the Creux de l'Oulette, another waterfall site in the commune of Saillant, which is the subject of a separate hike.
