From Super-Besse, in the Puy-de-Dôme, the gondola rises from 1,320 metres to about 1,800 metres, at the foot of the Puy de la Perdrix. It opens up the Sancy massif and its volcanic summits, including the Puy de Sancy, which at 1,886 metres is the highest point in the Massif Central.
From there, a short walk along the ridge leads to the summit in about an hour, with a view over the whole Chaîne des Puys.
