Parc zoologique de la Barben
La Barben Zoological Park is a private zoo set in the village of La Barben, between Salon-de-Provence and Aix-en-Provence, in the Bouches-du-Rhône. Created in 1971, it occupies several tens of hectares of Mediterranean garrigue, near the château de La Barben.
A route of several kilometres crosses the site and lets you observe giraffes, elephants, cheetahs, bears, lions and rhinoceroses, as well as tigers, birds and reptiles. The park also includes an aquarium and an aviary.
A little train runs and accompanies the visit. Educational activities and shows are offered to introduce the fauna and flora of the whole world. The site is appreciated by families, with picnic areas and shaded zones. In busy periods, it is advisable to book tickets online.
