Parc de Wesserling

Haut-Rhin, Grand Est

The Wesserling Park is at Husseren-Wesserling, in the Thur valley, at the foot of the Vosges, in the Haut-Rhin. It occupies the site of a former royal textile printing manufactory, active for more than two centuries, which marked the industrial history of Alsace. Its owners included the Protestant families Gros and Roman, then, later, the industrialist Marcel Boussac.

The site brings together several elements: the Château des Manufacturiers, a French-style garden, an English-style park, Italian-style terraces and a vegetable garden, labelled remarkable garden. The textile ecomuseum retraces the history of the manufactory, fabric printing and textile arts.

Each summer, from June to November, the Festival des Jardins Métissés presents temporary landscape creations by artists from around the world. The park is accessible by train from Husseren-Wesserling station and laid out for a visit without steps.
