Parc Animalier Saint Martin Montaigu La Brisette
The Parc Animalier Saint-Martin, also known as the Montaigu-la-Brisette zoo, is at the hamlet of Masson, at Montaigu-la-Brisette, in the north of the Cotentin (Manche). Opened in 1983, it extends over about fifteen hectares of Norman bocage, in a wooded estate bordered by ponds.
The park presents a few hundred animals of about forty species. Monkeys, wolves, lemurs and dromedaries are among the residents you meet on a family walk in the forest. Pony rides are offered to the youngest, as well as educational games.
The site also offers a "keeper for a day" experience, which lets you share part of the keepers' daily routine and better understand the care given to the animals. A park map helps organise the visit.
The park is open seasonally, with a closure at the end of the year; precise dates should be checked with the establishment before travelling.
