Musée Granet
Inaugurated in 1838, the Musée Granet is one of the most important museums in the region, labelled "musée de France". It is an institution of the City of Aix-en-Provence. It offers a route extending over more than 4,000 m², favouring the holdings of paintings and sculptures.
Nearly 750 works are on show, offering a broad panorama of artistic creation, from archaeology, the primitives and the Renaissance, with a particular focus on nineteenth-century Provençal painting, to the masterpieces of modern and contemporary art of the exceptional Philippe Meyer donation, including paintings and sculptures by Alberto Giacometti. Besides the landscape of the Jas de Bouffan from the Meyer donation, the museum presents nine other oil paintings that mark the whole career of Paul Cézanne.
