Musée d'Artagnan

Gers, Occitanie

The commune of Lupiac, a castelnau in the heart of Gascony in the Gers, was the 17th-century birthplace of the most famous Gascon of all: Charles de Batz de Castelmore, known as d'Artagnan. The Musée d'Artagnan was created in his home village in memory of the musketeer.

It offers a sound and visual route and an introductory film. Audio headsets accompany the visit from one theme to the next, with commentary in French or English and period music. Many documents and reproductions of artworks recall the real story of d'Artagnan and its historical context, while a statue of the hero and waxwork figures recreate the atmosphere of the Grand Siècle.
