Méandre de Hom

Calvados, Normandie

The Hom loop, near Thury-Harcourt-le-Hom, is one of the emblematic sites of Suisse Normande: the Orne describes there a wide meander enclosed between rocky cliffs and green meadows, forming a peninsula called the Hom. Other remarkable meanders are found along the river, such as the loop near Saint-Philbert or the Saint-Aubert gorges. The hiking path that goes round it, starting from Quai Harcourt, offers superb panoramas over the valley and also attracts mountain bikers and paragliders.
