Marols
Marols is a small village of the Forez mountains, in the Loire, ranked among the Most Beautiful Villages of France. Perched on a spur, it gathers its stone houses and red-tile roofs around its Romanesque church, whose bell tower dominates the whole. The narrow lanes and calades lead to viewpoints over the Forez countryside.
The atmosphere is calm and authentic, far from the major tourist flows. Marols is visited on foot in about an hour, strolling among the houses, fountains and gardens. It is an appreciated stop on the roads of the Forez mountains, between the Forez plain and the wooded heights of the mountain.
