Les Gorges de Tines

The Gorges des Tines lie at the entrance to the village of Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval, in Haute-Savoie. The waters of the Giffre have carved a deep cleft in the limestone, explored along a path fitted with metal footbridges and stairs above the torrent.

This site, easily accessible for families, lets visitors watch the water slipping between the sheer walls of the canyon, under a canopy of vegetation. The walk is a must before continuing to the Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval nature reserve and its famous glacial cirque.
