Le Pont du Diable à Valentré
The Valentré bridge is the emblematic monument of Cahors; it was built from 1308 on the initiative of the town's consuls. Built entirely of dressed stone, it is 172 m long, has 8 arches and 3 towers, the latter peaking more than 40 m above water level. Completed around 1380, it has always been maintained. In 1998, the bridge was inscribed by UNESCO on the World Heritage list as part of the Routes of Santiago de Compostela.
