Le Lac bleu de Champclause

This natural curiosity is in the Lauzière park of the Blue Lake in the commune of Champclause in the Haute-Loire département. This former lauze (stone roofing slate) quarry filled with water when a spring was discovered. The colour of the lake comes from the lauzes and volcanic stones that line the bottom of the water. You can also visit the miniatures museum on the same site. Swimming and picnicking are forbidden, to preserve this site.
