Le Jardin des Kangourous
The Jardin des Kangourous, in the Maine-et-Loire, keeps only Bennett's wallabies. There are no fences or enclosures here: the marsupials move freely along the paths where visitors walk.
Created in 2001, the garden recorded 6,000 visits in its first year, with about fifty wallabies. Over the years births have naturally increased the herd, and by 2015 it had 23,000 visitors and about 150 marsupials.
