Grottes du Roc de Cazelle
In the Beune valley, close to Les Eyzies, nature gave humankind the Cazelle cliff.
This impressive rock holds countless shelters and caves suited to the settlement of Upper Palaeolithic hunter-gatherers, who were the first to turn these refuges into homes.
So for 20,000 years, without interruption, the place was occupied by our ancestors.
Today this journey through time takes you into the heart of tamed nature, where you will meet about a hundred figures and animals, such as the famous mammoth or the woolly rhinoceros.
Turned into a fortress in the Middle Ages, this exceptional site was occupied until 1966 by its last inhabitants.
