Chemin de fer touristique de la vallée de l'Aa
The Aa valley tourist railway runs vintage trains between Arques and Lumbres, in the Pas-de-Calais, over about fifteen kilometres, near Saint-Omer. The route follows the Aa valley through meadows and villages, with 1950s rolling stock maintained by volunteers.
The line serves Blendecques, Wizernes, home of La Coupole, Hallines with its tunnel, Esquerdes and its Maison du Papier, then Setques, a starting point for walks. Trains leave from Arques and Lumbres stations.
Trains run regularly at weekends in season, and the association also offers themed trains through the year, such as at Christmas, Easter or Halloween, and events during local festivals and the Heritage Days. Booking is recommended for some journeys.
