The history of Château Lescombes, in Eysines in the Gironde, begins in the Middle Ages. The town bought the whole estate in 1989.
It now includes a landscaped park, an educational kitchen garden, a listed 16th-century dovecote, a museum of market-gardening tools and a contemporary art centre. The most visited spot in the town, Lescombes has become a popular meeting place in Eysines.
A former feudal capital, Blanquefort was, around 1270, then again in 1455–1466, a key point for the defence of Bordeaux.
The Château Dillon estate extends over 185 hectares.
The Maison Carrée d'Arlac, also called Château Peychotte, is a Neoclassical folly in Mérignac, in the Gironde.
The château's origins date from the 16th century, when the estate belonged to Pierre Eyquem, who died in 1560.
The Château de Malherbes was founded at the end of the 14th century by a knight returning from the Crusades, Guilhem de Malherbes.
Known from the twelfth century, it was then called "la Mothe de Margaux" and did not yet own vines.
