Château de Villemolin
The Château de Villemolin, in the Nièvre, stands on a height with a view over the wooded hills of the Morvan. Built in the 14th century on the site of a Gallo-Roman villa, the 'villa molini', and altered in the 17th and 19th centuries, it is horseshoe-shaped and flanked by three towers.
In the Neo-Gothic chapel built in 1830 there is a 15th-century pietà painted on wood, a gift from the Carthusians of Val Saint-Georges. Acquired by the Certaines family in 1538, the château has remained in the family for four centuries.
