Château de Réveillon
Réveillon was built between 1607 and 1617 by Claude d'Ancienville, lord of Réveillon, in place of a thirteenth-century medieval castle, ruined by the Hundred Years' War and the Wars of Religion. The château, in Louis XIII style, consists of a main body at the back of the courtyard and two wings to the north and south, each ending in a tower at the corners. The semi-dry moats are drained by a ditch collecting the water of the Saint-Fiacre fountain. Réveillon was built to be a country residence. It changed owners very regularly throughout the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. If the general composition of the château is that of the architecture of the first half of the seventeenth century, the interior decoration is Louis XIV in style.
