Château de Larroque-Toirac
Clinging to the side of a high cliff above the village and the Lot valley, in an exceptional defensive position, the castle of Larroque-Toirac, taken several times by the English, has kept its whole defensive system in its medieval part.
The seigneurial residence, which keeps its original kitchen, has very fine 15th-century fireplaces and 16th-century frescoes. The caves in the cliff behind the castle hold the remains of very old cave dwellings. The site's sheltered aspect explains the many exotic plants in the gardens.
