Château de Gréoux-les-Bains
Built in a commanding position, the castle of Gréoux-les-Bains, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, and its bailey are separated from the village by a curtain wall. This fortified area was altered at various times, notably in the 16th century, which strengthened its defences, before it was turned into a more practical and pleasant place.
Within the walls stands the seigneurial residence, a large rectangular block arranged around an inner courtyard. Its architecture reveals the main building phases, the most important being in the 14th century, when the building was organised around the courtyard.
