Bateau La Mira
La Mira is a cruise boat on the Monteynard-Avignonet lake, a reservoir formed on the Drac by the Monteynard dam, filled in the 1960s, between the Trièves and the Matheysine, south of Grenoble, in the Isère. The lake lies deep in gorges and canyons, and its shores are almost everywhere inaccessible on foot.
The boat links Treffort and Mayres-Savel, offering commented cruises, lunch or dinner cruises and aperitif cruises. During the crossing passengers see the gorges, the Brion bridge, a stone structure spanning the river, and the wooded cliffs.
The crossing is also popular with hikers heading for the Himalayan-style footbridges, including those of the Drac and the Ebron. Sailings depend on the lake level: the 2026 season runs from May to September, and booking is online, as places are limited.
