Parc National des Ecrins

Hautes-Alpes, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur

Between the Hautes-Alpes and the Isère, the Écrins National Park marks the boundary between the southern and northern Alps. It offers many opportunities for mountain sports, hiking and nature discovery, to enjoy as a family. A network of 700 km of paths is regularly maintained to help visitors explore this protected area, whose heart can only be explored on foot (or on skis or snowshoes in winter).

The Écrins National Park is a French national park created in 1973, after being foreshadowed as early as 1913. It covers a large part of the Écrins massif in the Alps, whose highest summit, the Barre des Écrins, rises to 4,102 metres. It extends over communes of the Isère and the Hautes-Alpes.
