Le Stade de France

Seine-Saint-Denis, Île-de-France

The Stade de France is in Saint-Denis, north of Paris, in the Seine-Saint-Denis. Opened on 28 January 1998 with a France-Spain match, it was built for the 1998 Football World Cup, whose final it hosted, and later hosted the 2016 European Football Championship.

With about 80,000 seats, it is the largest stadium in France. It is designed for many uses: football, rugby, athletics, as well as concerts and major shows, with 18 concert dates announced for 2026.

It can also be visited. The behind-the-scenes guided tour, lasting about an hour and a half, takes in the changing rooms, the players' tunnel, the stands, the boxes and the stadium museum; it may be changed on match or concert days. Since August 2025 the site has been run by the GL events group, which plans to make it a fully fledged events destination.
