Château de Villesavin
The Château de Villesavin is in the commune of Tour-en-Sologne, in the Loir-et-Cher, 17 km from Blois, 9 km from Chambord and 6 km from Cheverny. It was built on the site of the old lordship that belonged, in the early 16th century, to Guy de Châtillon, Count of Blois, by Jean Le Breton, lord of Villandry and Villesavin, secretary of finances to King François I.
It has been registered as a historic monument since 1928 and listed since 1952 and 1959. It is a witness to the early Renaissance, linked to the building of Chambord, since the workmen employed at Chambord also worked at Villesavin. A visit complements those of the other châteaux in the area.
