Château de Brassac
Built on the heights of the commune, the castle of Brassac, in the Tarn-et-Garonne, belonged to Raymond V, Count of Toulouse, at the end of the 12th century. It was rebuilt several times, then largely destroyed during the Revolution, except for the base, with its superimposed rooms, and the vaulted staircase.
The residence dates from the late 15th century, the outbuildings were built in the 17th, and the vaults of the second-floor rooms date from the 19th. The ensemble includes the castle, the curtain wall, a ditch, a well and outbuildings. The building is of stone and dressed stone, on a symmetrical plan, with a basement and a full upper storey, a round barrel vault, and hipped, polygonal and imperial-style slate roofs.
