Château de Beauregard
In 1737 the lands of Beauregard, in the Charente, were sold to Paul-César Guédon, a counsellor at the Bordeaux Parlement; they later passed by marriage to the Lotherie family. The long rectangular house with a slightly projecting central bay, built in the 17th century, was enlarged and transformed until 1761. On the courtyard side the façade is decorated with sculptures. The terrace was built at the end of the 19th century to enlarge the wine stores in the cellars.
The protected elements are the façades and roofs, the fully panelled salon west of the billiard room, the staircase and its wrought-iron banister, the 18th-century stone fireplaces on the ground and first floors, and the terraces with their balusters and steps.
