Musée maritime de La Rochelle
The La Rochelle Maritime Museum is a floating museum, located in the former trawler dock of the Old Port. Since April 2015, the museum has been extended by an onshore section behind the Espace Encan, in small pavilions covered with 'chips' made of coloured canvas.
Its collection includes, among others, eight vessels, six of which are listed as historic monuments. Thanks to the Friends of the La Rochelle Maritime Museum association, it is possible to sail on some of the boats on display, notably the Joshua.
