Flaine

Haute-Savoie, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

Flaine, in Haute-Savoie, gives access to the Grand Massif, one of the largest linked ski areas in France, with some 265 km of runs. Its altitude and position bring good snow cover, often more than three metres at the end of the season at 2,500 metres.

Besides skiing, the resort offers a snow park, paragliding and ice-driving lessons. It also stands out for its history and architecture: works by Picasso, Vasarely and Dubuffet sit alongside several buildings protected as historic monuments. Cars are banned, and shops, services and lifts are all within walking distance.
